Four things we learnt from the weekend!

What a weekend, there were few surprises came from this weekend so let’s look at what we have learnt!

  1. Once again it has been confirmed in all of our minds Aidan O’Brien is a legend and we should all take note that we are witnessing history! But he did remind us, this does not happen without his team at home, singing great praise to all the work they do and of course Ryan Moore who is pretty Special in the saddle.

  2. Horses that win at L’Arc should be carefully watched, this was proven with SPEEDING BOARDING last year and MARSHA this weekend. MARSHA is a big horse for this year beating WASHINGTON DC even with a higher weight she will be one to watch at Ascot this year.

  3. It looks like CHURCHILL will be heading to the Investec Derby, a normally guarded Aidan seemed more likely to be heading towards the race. The pedigree is there as is the talent after a great performance on Saturday hopefully we will see him follow in the hoofprints of SEA THE STARS and CAMELOT.

  4. On the Sunday we saw Aidan take 1st and 2nd in the 1000 Guineas, which  will see RHODODENDRON head for the Investec Oaks, making it look like Aidan could win them both!

With the first classic of the year confirming some big contenders for the Investec Derby we now look ahead to the Dante Festival at York.

This weekend our competition winners also got to experience all Newmarket has to offer, well at least what you can fit in with two days racing! They stayed at The Bell Inn and had a morning at the National Stud and the new Horse Racing Museum courtesy of Discover Newmarket followed by racing each day! We are s0 thrilled they enjoyed it and they even sent us in some pictures to show us!
