The Guineas festival is the official start of the Flat season although for everyone in the industry the prep and hard work to get their horse to this point has been well under way for months. The roll of honour for the two Guineas races includes stars like FRANKEL, MINDING and SEA THE STARS. Alongside the fantastic racing there will be two temporary exhibition halls, which will include photography from Chris Smith ex-Sunday Times sports photographer (images below) The Eclipse Lawn will host a stunning collection from a small number of artists, some of whom will be there on the day holding scheduled talks and demonstrations in between the racing.
For the young racing fan there is an exciting new Pony Club Zone on the Boulevard Lawn. This area will be packed with fantastic horse racing fun for everyone to enjoy throughout the festival. There will be a Jockey School kids can play with real tack and racing equipment then try on a set of authentic racing silks and learn to ride a race like Frankie Dettori on one of the equicisers, with tuition from one of our expert Jockey Coaches. There will also be an inflatable slide, bouncy castle, bungee run, soft play and face painting in the Family Enclosure. Don’t forget that children under 18 are welcome free, so it makes a great family day out!
For a party atmosphere there is a new location for racegoers, the Hyperion Lawn will have live music from a silhouette cutter and a fun zone with pony hoppers and a rodeo! This will also be where the apres racing will be held, where we will see Johnny Vaughan take to the decks to get the party going.
