1.25 QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup (Group 2)

Stradivarius is the odds on favourite for the race after winning all four starts this season, including the Weatherby’s 1 million pound bonus. However, Stradivarius has never won on ground with soft in the description and has a hard enough season. The pick here is for Flag of Honour who was last seen winning the Irish St Leger. A big improver for running over longer trips and likely to be more suited by softer ground than Stradivarius. The others are not in the same class as the front two in the market.
Flag of Honour - 9/4 Bet365

2.00 QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes (Group 1)

An interesting renewal of the British Champions Sprints with some of the market leaders having questions to answer. Harry Angel is the most talented horse in the race but his record at Ascot has much to be desired. Possibly more worrying is how he has blown out on his last two starts with his attitude now in question. Last year’s winner Librisa Breeze has not been in form this season but a return to Ascot and soft ground could bring out improvement. Haydock Sprint Cup winner The Tin Man is a worthy favourite but the selection is the reliable Brando who raced on the wrong side at Haydock but only went down half a length and is a rock solid option. If you want a pick at a pick bigger price Speak in Colours who runs for connections who are not adverse to banging in big priced Group 1 winners.
Brando - 8/1 Bet365
Speak in Colours 25/1 e/w Ladbrokes

2.40 QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (Group 1)

St Leger second Lah Ti Dar is warm order to take her first Group 1 win but is opposable with concerns over whether soft ground conditions will suit. Magical overcame a poor draw in the Arc to run a creditable race and is a proven performer on soft ground. Ryan Moore is onboard and a chance is taken to overcome the favourite.
Magical - 15/2 SkyBet

3.15 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) (Group 1)

John Gosden surprised some by declaring Roaring Lion for this race over a mile instead of the Champion Stakes over a mile and a quarter. It will be intriguing to see how Roaring Lion does back over a mile for the first time since a fifth in the 2000 Guineas but he has all the attributes to be just as effective over this trip. He has to overcome being drawn away from the pace on the stands side but it could be that he is just better than an average group of milers. The brave Laurens is likely to follow home in second.
Roaring Lion - 9/4 Bet365

3.50 QIPCO British Champions Stakes (Group 1)

Cracksman returns to the scene of his Champions Stakes demolition job last season but since then has been under a cloud. Just edging out Salouen in the Coronation Stakes at Epsom and then not winning at odds on at Royal Ascot when beaten by Poet’s Word in the Prince of Wales Stakes. A more reliable pick is Crystal Ocean who drops down in trip from seconds against Enable and Poet’s Word. A mile and a quarter on soft ground could be just what Crystal Ocean needs to claim his first Group 1.
Crystal Ocean - 11/4 Bet365

4.30 Balmoral Handicap (Sponsored by QIPCO) (Handicap)

A fiendishly difficult puzzle to solve at the end of the card. A full field of 20 go to post for the Balmoral Handicap over the straight mile. The two selections in this race are Via Via and Circus Couture.
Via Via - 12/1 Ladbrokes
Circus Couture - 50/1 Coral
