Betfair Super Saturday
The Betfair Super Saturday is a highlight of any jump racing fans calendar. So what is all the fuss about? To give you a roundup of the weekend we have made a list of five reasons to make the trip to Newbury this weekend.
1.The top class racing.
This week-ends card is full of massive races with some big names coming to compete including, the star ALTIOR who we will all be cheering on for Nicky! Apart from him we also have old favourite NATIVE RIVER. There is grade 2 and 3 races on the agenda and whatever the result is sure to be a very exciting day on the turf.
2. The Course
Newbury is one of our favourite tracks, this is for a number of reason. One being the great facilities on the course, they have just re-done part of it too to make it even better! There is plenty of indoor facilities for the fair weather race goer and lots of bars and great food stools. The parade ring is one of the renovated parts of the course and is beautiful and a great spot to try and pick a winner!
3. The Location
The course is located on the outskirts of London, and therefore is very easy to get to by car but even easier by train with a train station basically on site! It is probably one of the easiest courses to get to and with the station on site everyone can have a drink and enjoy their day!
4. The Hotel
If however you aren’t in or just outside of London, Newbury have a hotel, The Lodge, on site so you can make a little week-end of it. The hotel has a few rooms left for this week-end and is very reasonably priced, especially considering you will walk out of your room onto the course!
5. It’s Just a great day!
Newbury is a local track for so many of the jumps community, so, so many of them attend. It has a similar feel to Cheltenham for them being a home track, so if you can’t make it to Cheltenham this is a great compromise. All the big names will be there and the atmosphere is amazing especially with ALTIOR running the track will be full of excitement and you are guaranteed a great day, and let’s be honest it’s miserable and cold so brighten up your February!
