King George VI Kempton Park

As we get close to the halfway stage of the jump season and into the festive period. There is still a lot of good racing to come, one of those being the King George VI. The King George is the highlight of the Kempton meet this Christmas. 12 highly anticipated jump races over two days. Boxing Day is an absolute treat for top quality racing including the Christmas Hurdle and the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase.

However, the main event of the meeting will be the King George VI steeple chase which starts at 3.05pm. The main event includes horses such as the last years winner Thistlecrack who is third favourite at 6/1 with my tip of the day Sizing John at 7/1, its going to make for an exhilarating day of Christmas racing.

Kempton Park is known for having high quality National hunt and flat racing and this winter meet is no exception. With high quality races and plenty of food a drink stalls to go to if you have saved room from the day before.

One of our ambassadors Mick Fitzgerald EX national hunt jockey and now current television presenter rode a high-quality race in 1999 to win the King George VI Chase on see more business, who defeated Go Ballistic to clinch the title by 17 lengths.

For most horses this will be the build up for the Gold cup at Cheltenham to try and get their hands on the triple crown and the £1 million prize. With Kempton Park steeped in history you don’t want to be missing out on this fine Boxing day meet, whether you are an avid horse goer or just there to carry on the Christmas celebrations.
