The Aintree Journey

Like the race itself this is an exciting one and full of obstacles! Liverpool is known for its nightlife, warm welcome and great atmosphere so if you are heading out after wherever you end up will be a lot of fun!

At the Race Course

The course itself has so much to offer and there is plenty of live music and drinking to be had there, the bars stay open after racing and there is no point rushing off if the sun is out. On Ladies day we will see Sophie Ellis-Bextor take to the stage and Jo Whiley take to the decks until about 7.15pm.

Below is a picture of the festival zone which you can see is packed with bars and entertainment.

Getting to Town

There is plenty of public transport to get to town with regular buses and taxis well sign posted you will not be lost for a lift, Aintree have been doing this for years and it has one of the best operations in place! The station is literally outside the course so even if you’ve got your biggest high heals on it’s only a short stumble across the road

The Party!

All good nights in Liverpool have to start with dinner or at least a drink in San Carlo, be sure to book if you want dinner as it’s very popular with the locals and a personal favourite of Frankie Dettoris. If you fancy something a little less fancy for dinner there is a Zizzis and Jamies Italian up the road, but do be sure to eat because these scousers know how to drink and you don’t want to be the first on the floor.

After dinner it’s time to head to a bar before the all important club! Soho Bar is great fun and has some tasty cocktails to help wake you up after a long day, if R&B is more your style Camel Club is a must visit for you. There's Panoramic 34, Carpathia Bar, or NYL. There is also a roof top terrace bar at Matou on Pier Head if the weather is nice. Then you have the ones at the Albert Dock like Pan Am, Gusto and Smugglers Cove.

As for nightclubs there is so many amazing ones in Liverpool, if you want a real party then Garlands has to be top of your list, it’s a gay club in Liverpool known for its amazing house music and party atmosphere. Alma de Cuba is another nice place where all the footballers go as is Playground, but as we said on every corner there will be something happening so just enjoy the city!
