Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe

The Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is one of the biggest races in Europe’s flat racing calendar and dates back to 1920. The prize money for the main event of the weekend is worth €5,000,000 which makes it the richest flat race on turf and the third richest horse race in the world. This weekend of spectacular racing includes several Group 1 races and four Group 2 classed races. Another highlight of the Arc is the Arabian World Cup, also known as the richest race for purebred Arabian horses with €1,000,000 to win in prize money.

The Arc takes place this year at Chantilly racecourse Paris, France due to Longchamp racecourse undergoing refurbishment. This historic racecourse is located within a timeless setting; bordered by a fairy-tale chȃteau that is among the most popular historical monuments in France. Going to the races at Chantilly is an altogether unique visual and vibrant experience and not to be missed. Last year, Aidan O’Brian took home an impressive 1st, 2nd and 3rd with Ryan Moore pushing on to pass the post first on Irish thoroughbred, Found. This years leading contenders include Almanzor at a price of 5-1 with a record as the top three year old of last season. Another name to  consider is this years King George winner, Enable, an impressive three year old filly trained by John Gosden but, as there is still a few more weeks to go, time will only tell if either make it to the track in top form.
