Quickened Clear's 32Red Spring Cup Stakes Form Preview

3.05 LINGFIELD - 32Red Spring Cup Stakes – (Listed) (3yo) (7f1y)

FIRST CONTACT – 127++

Improving three year old colt. Won a fair novice race at the turn of the year before improving markedly when just touched off by the potentially smart Walk In The Sun. Stays seven furlongs but may prove best at sprint distances. Has the size to improve again.

BENGALI BOYS – 126+

Listed class as a two year old. All runs over five furlongs last year with best performance on soft ground at Newbury. Bred to stay seven furlongs and may improve again.

HEADWAY – 125+

Group class as a two year old. Best performance at Royal Ascot when second in the Coventry before struggling on soft ground, then shaping as seven furlongs would suit when keeping on in the Gimcrack. May improve again. Yard won this race last year.

MENDELSSOHN – 125+

Top class as a two year old. Second in the Dewhurst behind US Navy Flag before winning the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf in Del Mar. Best suited by a mile and should stay ten furlongs. May be open to improvement.

RUFUS KING – 125+

Good two year old handicapper. Best form on a sound surface including a career best on final start defeating Porth Swtan at Newmarket over seven furlongs. Effective at seven furlongs and could stay a mile. May improve again.

LANSKY – 122++

Just below group class as a two year old. Comfortable winner of a novice event on final start last season but shaped on both group race starts like further was needed. Should prove best at a mile up to twelve furlongs. Open to improvement.

LAKE VOLTA – 120+

Listed class as a two year old. Best effort came at Dundalk over seven furlongs behind Riyazan in October. Should come on for his seasonal debut. May improve again.

THREEANDFOURPENCE – 118++

Group class two year old. Improved with every run last season culminating in a good fourth in the Dewhurst. Should be effective up to a mile. Open to improvement.

ALBISHR – 117

Just below listed class as a two year old. Best performance came at Salisbury when beaten a nose by Mildenberger over a mile. Just run out of it on reappearance at Kempton last time by Sovereign Duke. Will be suited by a mile up to twelve furlongs.

SEAHENGE – 117++

Group class as a two year old. Won the Champagne Stakes, then third in the Dewhurst before disappointing in the Racing Post Trophy. May prove best at eight to ten furlongs. Open to improvement.
